"Experience is the best teacher of all. And for that, there are no guarantees that one will become an artist. Only the journey matters"                                                                                                                                                                                               "...unsurpassable artistic achievement of the ancient Buddhist artists who worked with dedication and devotion to beauty and sacred beliefs. Not like most of the "contemporary" artists who do anything to achieve fame and prosperity."

Asphodel: why I don't use the "artist on tumblr" tag

• It feels bogus and creepy. I have never been all that great at the game of self-marketing and for me, it stinks.

• You can tell I’m an artist, right? Even if you don’t care for my arts. I don’t have to telegraph for you “I am an artist; here I am on tumblr” - it would be like tagging my shit “picture words and/or music on the internet”

• I gave up making money from art per se (pure art, the stuff I do from metaphysical necessity rather than because someone hired me to do it - they are Very Different) a long time ago.  It’s not right for me unless it’s right for you before it ever comes up.  I will sell you pretty much anything I am allowed to sell you (and perhaps beyond), but only if  you bring it up.  I’m not here to pitch sales.
